WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS PITCHER: I prefer a more simple “perfect form”
with just a dab of “imperfect”. If I DIDN'T have the remaining bits leftover, I would not have added the texture. This is not to say that I’m not happy with the
texturing (so fun) and will add to an interesting glazing, but for my aesthetic taste I liked it best with the cracked
handle as my dab of imperfection to go with the smooth lines of the form.
REMAINING CLAY: I’m not sure if you
noticed, but when I throw on the wheel and trim off the bottom, I save this to use
later somewhere on the piece. On both days I ended up adding something I didn't
intend to at the start. It made me realize I could be doing this for
the remainder of the project if I don't think it through more at the
beginning stages to avoid ending up adding extra to the end piece. J
THE ATMOSPHERE: I've had nice music playing in the background, time to sit and imagine and just really enjoying my time in the studio! WOW have I been enjoying it! One
thing I noticed is I’m spending so much more time on one piece, where as before
I now realize I would rush through to start making the next thing. Being a fast
paced person by nature I thought a slower pace would bother me, but (for now) I’m
completely content designing and pondering in this environment :D !
Hope you enjoyed today’s piece and I’ll be back at it again
tomorrow!!
Thanks for watching and go ENJOY SOME CLAY!
